American Baptist Women’s Ministries of West Virginia
We are Christian women of West Virginia American Baptist churches receiving and offering gifts in response to our commitment to God. The world and the church need women strong in the Lord, responding to one another and to the needs we see around us. Today, that is the ministry to which God calls us.
The Kanawha Valley Association held the first spring rally for the 2026 Southwest Area. The women were excited to see dear friends as they gathered at Dunbar First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 16th in the evening.
I would like to recognize today the Williamson First Baptist Church Women’s Ministry and highlight this beautiful group of women of the Logan-Mingo Association. Thursday, March 12th, Sandy Foster-Curry and I had the privilege of meeting up with the Leota Campbell circle and a few others at their church to see what’s happening in their women’s ministry……
Let’s look at Matthew this week as we look at this special week for all Christians. I encourage you to get your Bibles and dig into these scriptures before the day gets away from you. This Holy week can get lost in the running from here and there even in all our good intentions of church “busyness”. Take time this morning and every day this week to observe the Holy. Let’s take a look back on yesterday, where this week started.

The WV Hope Ministry

Weirton Christian Center is committed to serving God and community with a focus on providing a strong foundation for children by meeting their spiritual, physical and emotional needs. In 2024, Weirton Christian Center served 195 children with two Hands-On Pre-school classes for 3 & 4 year -old children and a free after-school program, and summer program for Kindergarten through Middle School students. Throughout the year, the Christian Center provides snacks, meals, homework help and tutoring, school supplies, computer access, fitness, arts and crafts, and music and dance lessons. The “Quarters” Reward program for attending, doing homework, grade improvement, and report cards grades has been inspiring children to do better for years. To help WCC best, feel free to donate money for transportation, general expenses, and their Never Alone Kids counselors (a program for children who suffer from the loss of a loved one), and quarters (for grades).
Cridlin Food & Clothing Pantry's mission is to provide relief to those living who are unable (temporarily or chronically) to stretch their resources to meet their nutritional, hygiene, and infant essential needs in Cabell and Wayne Counties. The types of donations requested include gifts cards, money, gently used clothing, household items, nonperishable foods, etc.
Compass is a Christ-centered organization that offers hope by equipping women and families with support and information to embrace the gift of life throughout pregnancy and beyond. Compass serves family units in the Greater Morgantown area- Monongalia and Preston Counties. The organization appreciates donations of money, gift cards, gently used infant and maternity clothing, etc.
The Hope Shop is a food pantry that provides relief for the poor in and around Wirt County by distributing food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items to those in need. The needs of this ministry includes money, gift cards, gently used clothing and household items, nonperishable food items.
S.A.F.E is an organization that assists victims (men, women & children) of domestic violence with the following: shelter women and children- homeless and domestic violence. Serve victims of sexual assault, human trafficking and elder abuse. Assist with court hearings, filing emergency protective orders, referrals to law agencies and other agencies as needed in McDowell, Mercer, Wyoming Counties and others as needed. To support this organization, please contribute money, Gift Cards, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, hygiene supplies, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, paper towels, and paper plates.
